Lara's love letter to running.

Running has been a constant companion for our co-founder Lara - from childhood miles with her dad to marathons and motherhood. Along the way, it has offered clarity, perspective, and a quiet sense of joy. Here, Lara shares a personal reflection on the role running has played in shaping who she is today.

My love letter to running.

Running was my first love. I fell in love with the challenge, the escape, the feeling that anything was possible when my feet were moving. Running gave me clarity - a moment that belonged only to me, where I could dream freely.

My dad was my first running partner. Those miles together were time well spent - memories I now treasure and wish I could relive. I still remember the first time I beat him. Pure joy.

Then came my track club, my second family. Outside my parents, my coach was the first adult who shaped the person I am today. He taught me what it meant to show up, to work hard, to celebrate victories, and to learn from losses. Those early lessons are ones I still carry into my life today.

I moved to London for work, loneliness crept in. I signed up for the london marathon and joined a running club, which is where I met my greatest love - my husband Ben.

Life got busy for a while, and running slipped quietly into the background. Something always felt off - like my mind and body were searching for the meditation they’d lost. But running always finds its way back.

To me, running is breathing. It is meditation in motion. A joy woven into every stage of my life, a companion for every step. And now, I get to run with my children, just as my dad once ran with me.
